You give this site a private key. Use a disposable key made just for this purpose — you can re-use it here whenever you like — and never a key you already use for anything else. The key stays in server memory for this session only, so the gateway can identify as you on the mesh; remote sites only ever see proof of identity, never the key. After you start, check that the identity hash shown matches the one you expect.

Identity key (base64 encoding of exactly 64 bytes)

…or choose your private RNS identity file (a raw 64-byte file, not a public-key export). Your browser reads the file and converts its 64 bytes to base64 in the box above. That encoded private key is sent to this gateway when you start the session; the original file is not submitted as a file upload.
