Reticulum LoRa Scanner (ct125)
2026-09-29
This scanner watches the whole 869.400 to 869.650 MHz slice of the 868 MHz band, the part of it that allows 500 mW, for Reticulum traffic sent over LoRa at any bandwidth, spreading factor or coding rate. An RTL-SDR in Southern UK feeds its raw IQ samples to a grid of twelve LoRa decoders spread across the slice: one at 250 kHz, three at 125 kHz and eight at 62.5 kHz, each trying spreading factors 7 to 12. The decoders are placed 0.4 bandwidths apart, because a decoder was measured to hear a signal fully up to a quarter of its bandwidth off centre. Each packet is shown with the frequency measured from the signal itself, corrected for the receiver's crystal error, along with its bandwidth, spreading factor and coding rate. Announces are signature-checked, so node and user names are genuine, and delivery receipts are matched to the packet they confirm and verified against the recipient's announced key. Other LoRa devices that share the Reticulum sync word are listed separately, and MeshCore traffic on 869.618 MHz is skipped. It was tested with two RNodes on 869.463 and 869.525 MHz.
